BlogPress review

Well this is my second blog using BlogPress. The last blog (Comodo free firewall review) was a copy paste job from a note app I did before setting up the blogger account.
So I'll keep this short for now as it's early days still using the app so I can only give my initial impressions.
Initially, the account wasn't that easy to setup. Seemed a bit bugged and had to add and remove the blog account a couple of times before it would pick up the different blogs. I did look at the help file/FAQ within the app but it wasn't too helpful as to why I couldn't switch between my Blogger blogs. Also when viewing the text you are writing without the on screen keyboard, it sometimes cuts off long before you reach the bottom. It's a small bug that seems passable by tapping the text and pulling the keyboard up but it's a tad annoying.
However, now it's working, it seems quite straight forward to use and has plenty of options when posting a blog. To mention a few like tagging your blog, adding pics and it offers to fire up the blog service site after posting so you can see how it looks online.

So for my initial impression, I'd say it's a functional app after a bit of messing about, it has a few decent reviews on the web and a whole bunch of good reviews on the app store (most bad reviews seemed to be about setting up the accounts). I'll probably update this review with more detail once I've played with the app more but for now I'd say I'm generally happy with it

I've used the app a bit more and have noticed a few bugs. When editing like now, the screen doesn't scroll with the text (unless you use it in landscape mode but then you can't add hyperlinks without going back to portrait mode)
If you add a new blog to your blogger account, it won't let you just select it and add to it straight away. You have to make a new post before it will let you individually update it. (reported this to the devs and they are looking into it)

On the plus side the devs are quick to respond which is always a big positive as there are plenty out there that just don't get back to you.

So it's overall a decent app that has work aroundable bugs but if you have little patience for things like this then I would think twice before parting with your cash.

***Update***
since iOS 5 I have not been able to view or edit existing blogs in blogpress. This update is courtesy o te blogger app which seems to work quite well and at least allows me to view and edit existing blogs. Could be changing over to this as I only blog on Blogger.

Reducing Blogpress score to 2.5/5 for now as its taking too long to get the fix out and there are still bugs when writing blogs where I often have to rotate the phone to get the screen to scroll further 😲
